The Lonely Dictatorship of the Artist
Imagine an artist who makes an image, a painting. And somehow this painting is seen by the entire world, by seven billion people. And every single one of these seven billion love that painting! They love it and they praise it effusively. One might conclude that the work was indeed objectively good, with not a single dissenting voice. But then that artist, busy with his next painting, looks at the previous work so universally loved and admired, and he says to himself, "Eh..."
